    Second round of JioPhone bookings to start after Diwali: Reports

    Second round of JioPhone bookings to start after Diwali: Reports

    Reports have emerged that Reliance Jio will resume bookings for its JioPhone right after Diwali. "Likely from October end or November first week," a Reliance Retail channel partner has said. Before that, it will complete deliveries for the six million orders already placed in the first round. Though many have received theirs, the remaining is expected to be done in another three days.

    About the JioPhone

    The 4G VoLTE feature phone comes with a 2.40-inch display and 240x320 resolution. A unique feature is that it facilitates secure mobile payments through NFC, like Apple Pay or Samsung Pay. It supports 22 Indian languages. Long-pressing 5 will send a distress message to chosen contacts. Another interesting accessory is the JioPhone Cable TV, which lets users to connect their phones to television.

    Round One of pre-bookings was suspended in four days

    The JioPhone was unveiled in July and bookings started on August 24. In just four days, six million orders were placed. The company then suspended pre-bookings. Deliveries finally started on September 24. Reliance roped in several logistics firms along with its own workforce to run the operations smoothly. The devices were first distributed to rural markets and in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad.

You can download and login to the MyJio app using your registered number. This will allow you to track your JioPhone order. You can also call 18008908900 to know details about your JioPhone's delivery date.
