Karnataka rolls out bold new tech and startup policies

Business

Karnataka just dropped major new policies for IT, spacetech, and startups at Bengaluru Tech Summit 2025.
The state wants to be a global deeptech hotspot, with fresh support for AI, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.
There's a big push to spread tech growth beyond Bengaluru—think more opportunities in smaller cities and stronger backing for women-led and socially impactful businesses.

Other details:

Karnataka's spacetech plan is shooting for the stars—literally—with hopes of grabbing half of India's space market by building dedicated parks and testing facilities.
On the startup front, the goal is 25,000 new startups across the state.
Deputy CM D K Shivakumar highlighted Bengaluru's thriving scene, noting it hosts over 12,000 active startups and contributes more than 40% of India's software exports.
All this comes with a whopping ₹1.5 lakh crore investment to boost infrastructure.
