Kerala sets up TrEST Academy for next-gen tech training
Kerala announced the establishment of the TrEST Academy at Thiruvananthapuram's TrEST Park, aiming to train more than 200 people a year in cutting-edge fields like semiconductor design and electric mobility.
Announced by Higher Education Minister R. Bindu, this move is all about building a skilled workforce for the soon-to-open Kerala EV Industrial Park (K-EVIP).
Courses and facilities at the academy
The academy features hands-on courses in powertrain engineering, motor-inverter validation, digital twin development, and semiconductor tech like VLSI design and chip testing.
Students get access to advanced labs for real-world practice.
There will also be training for teachers on new tech trends, and startups can use the labs to test their products, all coordinated by Kerala's innovation council.
