Micron to acquire Taiwan fab for $1.8B
Micron is set to buy Powerchip's P5 chip factory in Taiwan for $1.8 billion, with the deal expected to wrap up by mid-2026 if regulators sign off.
The massive facility in Miaoli County will get a tech upgrade and start ramping up DRAM memory chip production, aiming for big output by late 2027.
