Mumbai, Bengaluru get new co-working spaces

Mumbai and Bengaluru have gotten more co-working spaces, courtesy WeWork. While Bengaluru gets it in Hebbal, a short drive from the airport, Mumbai gets it in Vikhroli, a well-connected suburb. Expanding its presence in India, the New York-based company has taken the total number of operating locations to eight. One more space is being planned at Goregaon (Mumbai), off Western Express Highway.

1,300 seats in Vikhroli centre, over 890 in Hebbal space

The Vikhroli centre is located near Hindustan Chowk Bus Stop and is spread across top three floors of 247 Business Park, a 14-storey building. A total of 1,300 members can be accommodated in this space, which also has the facility of parking and bike storage. The Hebbal space in Bengaluru, having over 890 desks, is located in RMZ Latitude Commercial on Bellary Road.

'Office' look: Floor-to-ceiling glass windows, artwork for color pops

All the WeWork spaces have a signature look: a lot of open area, contrasting colors, lofty ceilings and floor-to-ceiling glass windows. The same look has been repeated for the newly opened centers, with heavy usage of artwork and furniture pieces for color pops and terracotta brick stairways connecting the floors. And yes, you can bring your pooch pal too; some centres allow that.

'Evolution of collaborative workspace has grown exponentially in India'

"The evolution from a traditional office environment to a collaborative workspace has grown exponentially in India over last few years. Today, WeWork India is flourishing with more than 50% of our members being large enterprise companies," said Karan Virwani, CWeo (Chief WeWork Executive Officer), WeWork-India.

From Microsoft, Jaguar to AA Hospitality, all swear by WeWork

It's been just ten months that WeWork has started spreading its network in India and it already houses several global enterprises as well as SMEs (Small and medium-sized enterprises). Microsoft, Jaguar Land Rover, GoDaddy Miller & Camron, Megshala (NGO), AA Hospitality and Get Gorgeous are some of the regular members of WeWork, said Virwani. WeWork offers four types of short-term, flexible membership options.

A bit about WeWork, world's biggest co-working company

WeWork was founded in 2010 by American billionaire businessmen Miguel McKelvey, Adam Neumann and his wife Rebekah Neumann (actor Gwyneth Paltrow's cousin), with the motive: work to make a life, not just a living. The company, at current valuation around US$20 billion, serves 18 countries.
