Business

Indian stock markets had a strong Wednesday, with the Nifty crossing 26,200 for the first time since September—thanks in part to NVIDIA's impressive earnings.
The index briefly touched 26,246 before ending at 26,192 (up 139 points).
Sensex also finished on a high note, closing over 85,632 with a gain of 446 points.

Sector snapshots and record highs

Auto, capital goods, and energy stocks saw modest gains (0.2-0.6%), with Eicher Motors and Tech Mahindra among the standouts.
Meanwhile, consumer durables and media slipped; Asian Paints and Tata Steel were notable laggards.
Over 140 stocks—including M&M Financial and Axis Bank—hit new one-year highs, but more than 180 names like KNR Construction and United Breweries dropped to their lowest levels in a year.
NBCC shares jumped after landing a big order, while Mahindra Holidays got a boost from entering a new business area.
