NTT gains support for $16.3 billion AI arm acquisition
NTT (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone) just announced it's fully acquiring NTT Data Group for about $16.3 billion.
This move is all about beefing up their AI game and making the company structure simpler.
Right now, NTT already owns most of NTT Data, but they're offering to buy the rest from minority shareholders at ¥4,000 per share.

NTT's move aims to bolster AI capabilities
By bringing NTT Data fully under its wing, NTT hopes to catch up with rivals like KDDI and SoftBank in the race for better AI tech.
This also lines up with Japan's bigger goal of building a homegrown AI platform that can go global.
Plus, it's part of a wider trend—Japanese companies are streamlining after pressure from regulators to protect smaller investors and stay competitive worldwide.
