What's the story

Indian Oil Corporation has increased the prices of its premium petrol and diesel variants in Delhi. The price of XP100, India's first 100-octane premium petrol, has been hiked from ₹149/liter to ₹160/liter. Xtra Green (premium diesel) will now be sold at ₹92.99/liter as opposed to its earlier price of ₹91.49/liter. The hike comes amid fluctuations in global crude oil prices and changes in logistics costs due to the ongoing US-Iran war.

LPG price hike

Commercial LPG cylinders become costlier

Along with the increase in premium fuel prices, Indian Oil has also hiked the price of commercial LPG cylinders. The cost of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been raised by over ₹300 since the Middle East war began, from ₹1,768.50 on March 1 to ₹2,078.50 on April 1.

ATF price surge

Jet fuel prices cross ₹2 lakh

Jet fuel prices have also more than doubled to ₹2.07 lakh per kiloliter amid a spike in global oil prices. This is the first time aviation turbine fuel (ATF) rates have crossed the ₹2 lakh per kl-mark. The previous high was in 2022 when rates were raised by ₹1.1 lakh per kl after oil prices soared following Russia's military operation in Ukraine.
