Reliance AGM 2026: Key announcements

Nita Ambani has announced three landmark institutional projects spanning education, healthcare, and urban sustainability. First, the Reliance group has received approval from the Government of Maharashtra to establish a State Private University. Its upcoming 410-acre permanent campus at Dronagiri will host seven world-class schools specialized in AI and emerging technologies. In healthcare, Seven Hills Hospital is slated to become one of Mumbai’s largest medical facilities, with a planned capacity of 1,500 beds driving advanced clinical research, oncology, trauma services, organ transplantation, and neurodegenerative disorder care. Finally, the 130-acre Coastal Road Gardens will cultivate over 60,000 trees. Ambani noted that just as Central Park defines New York, Hyde Park shapes London, and the Botanic Gardens elevate Singapore, the Coastal Road Gardens is envisioned to become an iconic landmark for Mumbai.

Reliance's new energy projects will create 2,00,000 green jobs through the Giga Complex and the Kutch Solar Farm combined, as per Mukesh Ambani.

Reliance has committed to scaling its Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Cell Giga Factory to an annual capacity of 120 GWh, positioning itself as one of the world's largest manufacturers of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries upon commissioning. In tandem, the company’s 550,000-acre Kutch renewable energy hub is projected to generate over 40 billion units of green electricity annually—roughly 3% of India's total electricity requirement. Reliance has also signed a landmark $3 billion long-term supply agreement with Samsung C&T for green ammonia, marking one of the largest green ammonia offtake contracts globally.

Reliance Retail, in Q4 FY26, crossed the 20,000-store mark. For the full fiscal year, the company reported gross revenue of ₹3,70,026 crore, marking an 11.8% year-on-year increase. Profit after tax rose 12% to ₹13,838 crore. Concurrently, its registered customer base expanded by 11% YoY to reach 387 million.

Jio is integrating an in-app shopping experience into JioHotstar, enabling users to seamlessly purchase items they spot during a movie or TV show without leaving the platform.

JioStar continues to dominate India’s television entertainment landscape, commanding a massive 34.7% viewership share—nearly matching the combined total of its next three closest competitors. The network attracts 389 million daily viewers across various genres and languages, while its streaming counterpart, JioHotstar, averaged an impressive 451 million Monthly Active Users (MAUs) over the year.

Reliance Intelligence is constructing "India’s sovereign AI backbone" in Jamnagar, designed to run entirely on green power sourced from the conglomerate's own solar infrastructure. The first 120 MW phase will be commissioned by the end of 2026, featuring next-generation compute capacity equivalent to over 200,000 H100 GPUs.

Jio is exploring the development of a sovereign Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation for India while simultaneously collaborating with leading global providers. According to Akash Ambani, the telecom giant is also constructing its own domestic ground station infrastructure.

JioAirFiber has hit 13 million users in India, making it the world’s largest fixed wireless broadband operator.

Jio has solidified its market dominance as its total user base surged past 524 million. Announcing the milestones, Akash Ambani highlighted that the telecom giant’s 5G subscriber base has crossed 268 million, fueled by 77 million net additions over the past year. This achievement cements Jio's position as the largest single-country 5G operator outside of China.

The Board of Jio Platforms has greenlit its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP), which is slated for submission to SEBI today.

As per Mukesh Ambani, Reliance Industries remains the largest contributor to the national exchequer, providing ₹2,16,472 crore ($22.8 billion) in FY26. This brings the company's cumulative five-year contribution past the ₹9.78 lakh crore mark, exceeding $100 billion.
