Sarvam launches 'core intelligence factory' for India's BFSI AI shift
Sarvam just rolled out its "core intelligence factory," aiming to fix some big headaches in India's Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) space.
The sector is still figuring out how to use AI, but struggles with scattered pilot projects and compliance issues from juggling too many tools like voice bots and document AIs.
Vedant Trivedi, head of applied AI at Sarvam, says AI is the third biggest shift for the BFSI sector.
Modular stack separates tech and governance
The new system uses a modular stack architecture that separates fast-changing tech (like GPUs and AI models) from layers that need strict oversight.
Inspired by core banking systems, it lets BFSI companies stay agile without losing control.
Highlights include a centralized "token factory" for sourcing infrastructure, strong governance for compliance, and an orchestration layer to boost performance.
Sarvam helps BFSI avoid vendor lock-in
Sarvam's approach means banks and insurers can adopt new AI tech without getting stuck with one vendor.
Trivedi points out this is key for the industry, since dealing with multiple tools often leads to compliance headaches and limits innovation.
