Sarvam raises $234 million led by HCLTech, hits $1.5B valuation
Business
Sarvam, an Indian-born AI startup, just raised $234 million and hit a $1.5 billion valuation, making it the latest unicorn on the block.
The round was led by HCLTech, with big names like Bessemer Venture Partners and Khosla Ventures joining in.
Sarvam to hire and expand globally
The new funds will help Sarvam hire top talent, build even bigger AI models, and expand globally, including opening a San Francisco office to attract international minds.
With API usage up almost tenfold in just six months and more than 2 million daily voice interactions, it is also working on affordable AI tools (think: wearables like smart glasses) for businesses in India and beyond.
