SBI Card ends complimentary air accident insurance
SBI Card is rolling out some major changes to its premium and co-branded credit cards starting July 15, 2025.
The biggest update: complimentary air accident insurance will no longer be offered.
Payment rules are also getting a revamp, so if you use cards like SBI Card ELITE, Miles ELITE, or those linked with UCO Bank and Central Bank of India, heads up—things are shifting.
Air accident cover getting discontinued
The ₹1 crore air accident cover on SBI Card ELITE, Miles ELITE, and Miles PRIME is being scrapped. Similarly, the ₹50 lakh cover on PRIME and PULSE cards is going away too.
Co-branded cards with UCO Bank and Central Bank of India will see these changes kick in from August 11.
What's changing in the payment process?
Your minimum amount due (MAD) will now include the full GST, EMI amounts, fees, finance charges, any overlimit usage—and 2% of whatever's left unpaid.
Plus, when you make payments, they'll be applied in a new order: GST first, then EMIs and fees before regular spends or cash advances.
