SC grants Shaadi.com founder Anupam Mittal interim protection from arrest
Business
The Supreme Court has given Anupam Mittal, founder of Shaadi.com, and two others eight weeks of protection from arrest after fraud allegations surfaced.
This comes after a Hyderabad woman claimed she was cheated out of ₹11 lakh by someone using a fake profile on the platform.
The SC also set aside an earlier Telangana High Court order and told it to take another look at the case.
Legal process continues
The top court didn't comment on whether Mittal is guilty or not but asked the High Court to review things with fresh eyes.
Mittal's lawyer pointed out that he's just running a matchmaking site and is cooperating with investigators.
For now, the legal process continues while everyone waits for the next move from the courts.
