SolarSquare raises $53 million led by B Capital, surpasses $100 million
SolarSquare, a big name in India's rooftop solar scene, has raised $53 million in new funding led by B Capital, with support from Lightspeed, Elevation Capital, and others.
This brings its total funding to more than $100 million, a solid boost for making clean energy more accessible.
SolarSquare plans full home energy platform
The new funds will help SolarSquare expand into more cities and upgrade its technology to meet the rising demand for home solar panels, especially as electricity prices climb and government schemes like PM < em>Surya Ghar make solar more attractive.
With 50,000 homes already powered and plans for a full home-energy platform (think: solar plus batteries and smart energy management), co-founder and CEO Shreya Mishra says it wants to help speed up India's shift to renewable energy, since less than 5% of eligible rooftops use solar so far.
