Starbucks and Tata team up to back 10,000 Indian coffee farmers

Business

Starbucks and Tata are rolling out a new plan to support 10,000 coffee growers across India by 2030.
Their Farmer Support Partnership (FSP), recently launched, blends Tata's local know-how with Starbucks's global farming smarts to help farmers in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala grow better coffee—while keeping things sustainable.

What's actually changing for farmers?

The FSP will set up model farms using best practices fit for India.
Over the next five years, Tata Starbucks will hand out a million high-yield Arabica seedlings and give farmers access to Starbucks's digital training tools on smart farming and ethical sourcing.
The goal: boost quality, productivity, and climate resilience.

Why does it matter?

This isn't just about better beans—it's about helping farmers earn more while protecting the environment.
With regenerative farming methods in play, the partnership aims for greener growth as Starbucks expands in one of its fastest-growing markets since joining forces with Tata in 2012.
