Textile sector cheers new ₹25,060cr export boost plan

Business

India's textile industry is backing the government's new Export Promotion Mission (EPM), which aims to help small and mid-sized businesses sell more abroad.
With a hefty ₹25,060 crore budget set for the next six years, the EPM combines several export schemes into one, promising better support for textiles, leather, gems and jewelry, engineering goods, and marine products—plus job security for many workers.

Helping MSMEs tackle tough times

Ashwin Chandran from the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry says EPM is a big step in solving money access issues that MSMEs often face.
The mission comes just as India looks forward to a possible trade deal with the US—especially important after recent high US tariffs caused a noticeable drop in textile exports this September compared to last year.
