Business
Trent, Tata Group's retail arm, just posted a 22% jump in net profit for the June quarter: ₹518 crore versus ₹425 crore last year.
Revenues rose 18% to ₹5,755 crore and operating profits (EBITDA) climbed 33%.
Trent opens 23 stores including UAE
Chairman Noel N Tata credits this growth to Trent's knack for quickly adapting to what customers want, especially in trending areas like beauty, innerwear, and footwear, which now make up over one-fifth of sales.
The company opened 23 new stores (including one in the U.A.E.), bringing its total to over 1,300 across 330 cities (including 3 in the UAE).
Online shopping is picking up too: Westside online, together with its proposition on the Tata Neu platform, accounted for over 6% of Westside's revenue in Q1FY27.
