UAE's Feeder Fund to invest ₹1,000cr in Kerala start-ups

The UAE-based Feeder Fund, led by the Global Alliance, has announced a massive investment of ₹1,000 crore in Kerala's start-up ecosystem. The funding will be distributed over three years and is aimed at encouraging global NRI participation in the state's innovation landscape. The move also complements the Funds-of-Funds program initiated by the Kerala Start-up Mission (KSUM).

Announcement made at Huddle Global 2025
The announcement of the funding was made by Anoop Ambika, CEO of KSUM, during the closing ceremony of Huddle Global 2025. The event is India's largest beachside start-up festival and was held in Kovalam from December 12-14. Ambika described the fund as a major milestone for the event and an endorsement of Kerala's vibrant start-up ecosystem.

KSUM launches 'LeapX AVGC-XR Accelerator Programme'
On the same day, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan launched KSUM's 'LeapX AVGC-XR Accelerator Programme.' The three-month-long initiative is designed to support high-potential start-ups in animation, visual effects, gaming, comics, and extended reality (AVGC-XR). It is focused on original IP creation, technology-driven products and global market readiness. Selected start-ups will get structured mentorship, industry/studio access, investor interactions, and funding support.

Initiative open for applications
The application process for the 'LeapX AVGC-XR Accelerator Programme' is now open. Start-ups from across India can apply, with special incentives given to those registered in Kerala. Eligible start-ups will get a marketisation grant and an opportunity to secure follow-on funding via partner investors. This initiative further strengthens KSUM's commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the state.
