Yupp.ai, the AI startup backed by a16z Crypto, is closing its doors after struggling to find its place in the market.
Launched in June 2025, Yupp.ai let users try out over 500 AI models, including ChatGPT and Gemini, but even with 1.3 million users, it just didn't catch on as hoped.
Yupp.ai founder Gupta pledges refunds
Yupp.ai started as a marketplace for testing AI models but couldn't keep up as newer tech trends took over.
The team had raised $33 million from big names like Jeff Dean and a16z Crypto. founder Gupta says he'll refund leftover investor money and take a break for two years.
Users can still access their data until April 15, 2026, while the team moves on to other projects or new jobs in AI.
