Zepto's Mumbai facility back in operation
Zepto, the quick delivery app, has reopened its Dharavi warehouse in Mumbai. The place was shut down by Maharashtra's FDA after inspectors found some pretty serious food safety issues—think moldy food, expired items mixed with fresh stock, and cold storage that wasn't cold enough.
What went wrong at the warehouse
FDA officials spotted fungal growth on food, goods stored next to stagnant water, and expired stuff being kept with new products. Zepto had to fix these problems and now faces another inspection before things are fully cleared.
All major quick delivery players under scanner
This isn't just about one warehouse—now all major quick delivery players like Blinkit and Instamart are under the scanner. The government is planning tougher checks across the sector to make sure what lands at your door is actually safe to eat.
