    What's the story

Zomato has introduced a new facility that allows users to schedule their food orders up to two days in advance.

This update was announced by the company's CEO and founder, Deepinder Goyal, on social media platforms.

Initially, the service will be available across seven Indian cities including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Lucknow and Jaipur.

    User benefits

A step toward better meal planning

The order scheduling feature is designed to help users plan their meals more efficiently.

Goyal stated, "Plan your meals better by placing an order up to two days in advance, and we'll deliver right on time."

However, this service is currently limited to orders above ₹1,000 and can be used at approximately 13,000 outlets across the aforementioned cities.

    Restaurant selection

    Selection criteria for restaurants

Goyal also shed light on the criteria used to select restaurants for this new feature.

He explained that these eateries typically have a large stock of dishes and consistently meet kitchen-preparation-time standards.

The CEO assured that more restaurants and cities are being added to this service, with plans to eventually extend it to all orders.

    Service enhancement

    Zomato's innovation amid market competition

The launch of the order scheduling feature comes shortly after Zomato discontinued its Legends intercity delivery facility.

This new development underscores the company's commitment to innovate and enhance its services in a highly competitive food delivery market.

The feature is expected to provide users with more flexibility and convenience when ordering meals from their favorite restaurants.
