Zomato's Deepinder Goyal enters aviation with LAT Aerospace

Deepinder Goyal, the Zomato co-founder, has teamed up with Surobhi Das to launch LAT Aerospace—a startup aiming to make flying between smaller Indian cities way easier and more affordable.
Their plan? Build low-cost planes for up to 24 people that can take off and land on short runways, especially in places that don't get regular flights.

TL;DR

LAT Aerospace has already raised $50 million

LAT Aerospace has already raised $50 million (with $20 million from Goyal himself).
Instead of big airports, they'll use tiny "air-stops" about the size of a parking lot—so you won't need to trek out to a huge terminal just to catch a flight.

Planes will cover trips up to 1,500km

The new planes will cover trips up to 1,500km and are designed for quick "walk-in and fly" journeys.
This could be a game-changer for millions who currently spend ages on trains or busses, opening up hundreds of unused airstrips across India.

LAT Aerospace wants to connect smaller towns

Right now, regional flights in India are pricey and mostly stick to big cities.
LAT Aerospace wants to fix that by connecting smaller towns and making air travel less of a hassle—though they'll still have some hurdles like regulations and tech challenges along the way.
