After sister Shaza, actor Zoa Morani tests positive for COVID-19
Just hours after her sister Shaza was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), actor Zoa Morani also reportedly tested positive for the deadly infection on Monday. Zoa, who is the daughter of Bollywood producer Karim Morani, is currently admitted at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. Zoa had traveled back to Mumbai from Rajasthan around mid-March, reports NDTV. Here are more details.
Meanwhile, Shaza is under medication at the city's Nanavati hospital, where she will soon be tested again, reports PTI. As per reports, Shaza had also traveled back from Sri Lanka in the first week of March. Further, the Morani family and their house helps are also getting tested for the virus. They are all currently under self-quarantine.
Zoa, who lives with her family in Juhu, has appeared in movies such as Always Kabhi Kabhi produced by Shah Rukh Khan, Bhaag Johnny, and some web-series. Zoa's father Karim Morani has produced several movies including SRK-starrer Chennai Express, Ra.One, Dilwale, Happy New Year, among others. However, he has been away from showbiz for some time, after being embroiled in a number of scams.
Zoa's is at least the third such case where a person connected to Bollywood has been diagnosed with the COVID-19. Earlier, Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor had tested positive for the disease in March. She has now fully recovered and has been discharged from the hospital. Across India, the COVID-19 pandemic has killed 137 and infected nearly 5,000 persons.
Bollywood is actively lending support in India's fight against COVID-19 pandemic. Stars like Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan, and Kartik Aaryan have been spreading awareness about the fast-spreading infection on social media. Actors like Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Priyaka Chopra have pledged donations for the cause. SRK and Priyanka will also participate in an upcoming fundraiser event by WHO.
