Karim Morani is an Indian film producer who is popularly known for producing hit Bollywood films like ‘Ra.One’ and ‘Chennai Express,’ both starring Shah Rukh Khan. Morani along with his brother Aly Morani also owns event management and film production company called Cineyug. In 1991, he started his journey of film production with Rahul Rawail’s film ‘Yodha,’ which starred Sanjay Dutt, Sangeeta Bijlani, and Sunny Deol. After a hiatus of 12 years, he returned to production with the 2003 action film ‘Dum.’ Again he took an eight-year gap following which he co-produced films with Shah Rukh Khan. In 2011, he served as an associate producer for ‘Ra.One,’ and also co-produced ‘Chennai Express’ in 2013. He also co-produced films like ‘Dilwale,’ and ‘Happy New Year.’ Morani has been involved in several controversies throughout his career including the 2G spectrum case. In 2017, he was booked by Hyderabad Police for raping a 25-year-old student. Morani is married to Zara Morani and the couple has two daughters. Their elder daughter Zoa Morani also works in the Hindi film industry.
