Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan made a shocking disclosure about persisting only on 25 percent of his liver. He said he had lost 75 percent to the dangerous Hepatitis B virus. He said that he had contracted the virus during the blood diffusion at the time of his Coolie accident. He further praised the doctors and medical facilities in India for Hepatitis treatment.

    Darkest day of Bachchan's life

On 26 July 1982, Amitabh Bachchan met with a near-fatal accident on the sets of Manmohan Desai's Coolie in Bangalore. As a result of a mistimed jump while filming a punch-and-jump sequence with co-star Puneet Issar, he was hurt by the edge of a table. The incident ruptured his spleen. Two operations were performed at Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital and he survived.

In November 2005, Bachchan was admitted to Escorts Hospital in New Delhi and was later shifted to Mumbai's Leelavati Hospital on complaints of abdomen pain. He was suffering from "diverticulitis of the small intestine – when the walls of the large or small intestine tend to get weaker leading to an inflammation." On 29 November 2005, he was operated and spent 2 months recuperating.

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan was rushed to the Nanavati hospital in Vile Parle on his 66th birthday. After preliminary tests, he was moved to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra where he was kept under observation. Doctors said the actor was suspected to be experiencing "sub-acute intestinal obstruction as well as an incisional hernia"- known to transpire due to an inadequately healed surgical injury.

Big B hospitalised again with Myasthenia Gravis

Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan was discharged from hospital almost a week after he was admitted to a Mumbai hospital for abdominal pain. It was later revealed that it was due to the life-threatening disease Myasthenia Gravis which is a neuromuscular ailment that causes muscle weakness. This was a direct result of his 1982 injury on the sets of Coolie.

    Bachchan rubbishes health scares
