What's the story

Actor Ananya Panday has opted out of Maddock Films's upcoming fantasy romance film Choomantar, owing to a scheduling conflict with the second season of Call Me Bae. The film, which also stars Abhay Verma, is set to go on floors in January 2026 under Tarun Dudeja's direction. A source told Mid-Day that both parties have mutually decided to part ways for now but are open to future collaborations.

Casting updates

These actors will now star in the film

In light of Panday's exit, the makers have reportedly made changes to the cast. South actor Sreeleela and Vash fame Janki Bodiwala are now expected to lead the film alongside Verma. The source added, "A mock shoot with the trio happened last week. The fantasy romantic drama has been in preparation for several months, and workshops are likely to begin next week."
