#SarkarRow: Murugadoss granted anticipatory bail, agrees to cut 'objectionable scenes'

On Friday, Madras HC accepted the anticipatory bail plea filed by 'Sarkar' director AR Murugadoss, granting him protection from arrest till November 27.
The director moved court after police paid a visit to his residence on Thursday night.
He also agreed to remove objectionable scenes from the movie and mute a reference to former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
The AIADMK protested against the movie.

AIADMK claims the movie, which stars Vijay, insulted Jayalalithaa and her government's schemes. Several AIADMK leaders staged protests against 'Sarkar' makers pressurizing them to remove the controversial scenes. They have also "demanded that the theaters stop screening the movie until the objectionable scenes are removed".

Unsurprisingly, the controversy blew up after the movie's release and demands to truncate objectionable scenes became louder.
Tamil Nadu minister Kadambur Raju also warned Murugadoss. It was reported that owing to the controversies, Chennai police visited the director's residence late on Thursday night with an intention to arrest him. However, he wasn't arrested.
Murugadoss even wrote about the incident on Twitter.

Earlier in the day, the reports of Murugadoss' arrest created a panic among the fans.
However, as per a report published in The News Minute, the Chennai police had rubbished the news of arresting the filmmaker.
A senior police officer told TNM that there is no FIR against Murugadoss.
He also clarified that police had visited his residence to check the security.
