Ajay Devgn and Tabu, the acclaimed onscreen duo, reunited for their 10th film together with the release of Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha on Friday. Directed by Neeraj Pandey, this romantic thriller also stars Jimmy Sheirgill, Shantanu Maheshwari, and Saiee Manjrekar in key roles. Despite the considerable hype surrounding the film, Auron Mein... has received mixed reviews from audiences. Film business expert and producer Girish Johar shared his box office predictions with Filmibeat, stating, "It is one of the most fascinating films which is surprisingly not trending quite well." He suggested that the makers may have intentionally kept the film under wraps to surprise or shock audiences.

Film is expected to outperform 'Sarfira'
Johar predicts that if word of mouth picks up, the film could open between ₹3-4cr and potentially touch ₹5cr. If these predictions hold true, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha will surpass Akshay Kumar's Sarfira, which had an opening day collection of ₹2.5cr at the box office. Notably, this is Devgn's third release of the year, following the successful box office runs of Shaitaan and Maidaan.

Director Pandey previously spoke to News18 about his decision to cast Devgn and Tabu as the lead pair. He revealed, "Two years back when we were figuring out our next theatrical release, the germ of this film came to me." Pandey added that Devgn and Tabu were his first choices for the lead roles. The movie traces a love story spanning 23 years from 2000 to 2023, delving into the emotional depth of the couple's relationship over two decades.
