'Bro Code': Ravi Mohan's film gets new title on Netflix
Ravi Mohan's new movie had to ditch its original title, Bro Code, thanks to a trademark dispute with IndoSpirit Beverages.
The studio shared that RaviMohan studios registered its copyright BroCode title for its script and its artistic work in entertainment category, and a poster on the streaming service's social handle omitted the Bro Code title and displayed 'Ravi Mohan Studios Production Number 1.'
Why the court ruled against Mohan
IndoSpirit Beverages has used Bro Code for its alcoholic drinks. They filed a trademark infringement suit against Mohan in the Delhi High Court.
The court temporarily blocked the film from using the name in promotions, saying it could confuse people.
What's the current status of the case?
Even so, the source says that in October 2025 the Delhi High Court had granted an ad interim injunction, and Mohan withdrew proceedings he had earlier initiated before the Madras High Court. The parties later entered settlement talks.
For now, all Bro Code branding is off promos as the film gears up for release on Netflix in multiple languages, starring SJ Suryah, Arjun Ashokan, and Shraddha Srinath.
