KJo proudly shares glimpse of Captain Vikram Batra biopic
It's raining biopics in Bollywood these days and making movies on legends has become a burning trend of the industry. And now ace filmmaker Karan Johar is all set to join the league. KJo has announced a biopic on Kargil martyr Captain Vikram Batra, which will star Sidharth Malhotra in the lead. Check out all the details of Batra's biopic.
On the birth anniversary of Captain Batra, KJo shared a post of his upcoming project on Twitter. The post was a glimpse of Batra's story, his unit, awards, code words. Notably, Batra was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest military award. KJo touted it to be a proud moment for him to make a story on the Kargil martyr.
Known as 'Shershah', Batra's 'Yeh Dil Maange More' statement during the war became extremely popular. The fearless soldier laid down his life while capturing Point 4875 during Kargil war. He was hit by a bullet in his chest when he rushed to save an injured junior officer. Batra also killed enemies while proceeding towards the injured soldier. He, later, succumbed to his wounds.

It is indeed a proud moment for Batra's family as well, who feel the movie is a chance for the world to know about Vikram's love for his country. Vikram's twin brother Vishal has high hopes from the biopic and expects that Sidharth will do justice to Batra's role. Vishal also revealed that Sidharth will have a double role in the movie.
Vishal Batra also revealed that he felt that Sidharth was the best choice for Vikram's role in the biopic. "We could have approached other actors but we couldn't see anyone who could play 24-year-old Vikram well on the screen. Being a young guy with a huge fan base, I know he would fit the role well and attract audience," Vishal told HT.
Sidharth Malhotra, who had played the role of Army officer in 'Aiyaary', will once again don the uniform for Batra's biopic. Talking about it, Sidharth asserted that it is one of the toughest roles of his life and he finds it to be a huge responsibility. "I am preparing for it but it seems like I have to prepare more for it," he said.
