Carrey cast to lead Warner Bros. Discovery's live-action 'The Jetsons'

Jim Carrey has officially been cast as the lead in Warner Bros. Discovery's upcoming live-action The Jetsons movie, announced August 6.

The film will be attached to the project, and co-written by Joe Epstein, but you'll have to wait a bit: it's not set to premiere until beyond 2027.

Classic 'The Jetsons' and Carrey's fit

The Jetsons is a classic cartoon from 1962 about a futuristic family and their wild adventures.

Carrey joining the project fits his recent streak of family-friendly roles, like Dr. Robotnik in the Sonic movies (2020-2024).

And fun fact: he might also return as the Grinch for a sequel to How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
