Delhi court allows further probe in rape case against Samir Modi
A Delhi court has given the green light for more investigation into rape and criminal intimidation allegations against businessman Samir Modi.
The complainant says Modi repeatedly raped, threatened, and cheated her, claiming he'd help her career in fashion.
Where things stand now
Modi was arrested on September 18 after coming back from London, but got bail a week later.
Police filed a chargesheet on November 7, but Modi's counsel argued that it didn't fully consider evidence from his side, a concern acknowledged by the court.
Now, based on his submissions, the court has paused trial proceedings until December 17 to allow for further investigation.
Meanwhile, the High Court is also reviewing Modi's request to drop the case entirely, with hearings focusing on whether their relationship was consensual.
