Delhi government to introduce AVGC policy for animation, gaming sectors
Delhi is rolling out a new policy to boost Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics (AVGC), aiming to make the city a creative hotspot and open up more jobs for young people.
A draft will be up for public feedback by December 2025.
The government even teamed up with Netflix recently for a special screening of "Kurukshetra," as part of its efforts to position Delhi as a Global Content Hub in the AVGC sector, according to Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra.
Skill-building, infrastructure focus in new policy
The plan takes notes from Maharashtra's approach and focuses on skill-building, better infrastructure, and stronger ties between industry and colleges.
There are proposals for loans, subsidies, and proposals to establish a regional center of the National Centre of Excellence for AVGC in Delhi.
Plus, November 2025 will see the city host its first-ever AVGC Summit—an open invite for animators, gamers, and creators to share ideas that could shape this growing sector.
