Delhi HC protects Ajay Devgn's personality rights from infringement
Ajay Devgn just scored a legal win—Delhi High Court has stepped in to stop websites and online platforms from using his name or photos for profit without his okay.
The court's upcoming order will also cover new tech issues like AI and deepfakes, making it clear that even digital versions of his persona need his consent.
What the court said about image use
Devgn's lawyer pointed out that some people were producing commercial merchandise, including caps and stickers, impersonating Devgn.
The court now wants complaints to go through platforms like YouTube and Google first, before heading to court.
Obscene content must be taken down right away, but regular images will get a hearing before any more action is taken.
This move follows similar steps by other celebs protecting their image in today's digital world.
