'Dhadak 2' review: Triptii, Siddhant's film is hard-hitting yet entertaining

Entertainment

Dhadak 2, now streaming on Netflix, stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri in a Hindi remake of the Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal.
Directed by Shazia Iqbal and produced by Dharma Productions and released on August 1, the movie dives into caste and class issues in modern India through the love story of Neelesh, a Dalit law student, and Vidhi, an upper-caste girl.

How 'Dhadak 2' fits into the 'Dhadak' universe

Fun fact: Dhadak 2 was originally titled Panther after the Dalit Panther movement.
Director Shazia Iqbal says it wasn't meant as a direct sequel at first—actor Chaturvedi even describes it as more about exploring identity than continuing the original Dhadak.
While Dhadak (2018) tackled love across social divides, Dhadak 2 goes deeper into caste discrimination and its impact today.
