Director accused of cheating Bollywood actress out of ₹71L
According to a police complaint filed by Bollywood actress Kiran Ahuja, filmmaker Kawal Sharma cheated her out of ₹71 lakh after convincing her to invest in his web series Luck by Exchange and film Birubala National Hero between August 2024 and April 2025.
Sharma promised big returns—₹1 crore on a ₹50-60 lakh investment—but things didn't go as planned.
What happened next
Ahuja, who paid in installments as per Sharma's requests for the production, got two cheques from Sharma that bounced when she asked for her money back in April 2025.
She filed a police complaint on September 3, and now Sharma faces charges for criminal breach of trust and cheating under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The investigation is ongoing, with authorities checking all transactions between them.
