'Doraemon' to make big-screen debut in India in October

The beloved Japanese animated series, Doraemon, will make its big-screen debut in India with the release of Doraemon the Movie: New Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil on October 2, reported Variety. TV Asahi and PVR Inox Pictures will release the film across cinemas throughout India. It will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

The film, based on the original manga by Fujiko F. Fujio, follows Nobita and his friends on a deep-sea camping trip with Doraemon's secret gadgets. They stumble upon an underwater civilization and a threat to the planet. Black White Orange (BWO), a licensing and brand consulting agency, will lead the film's promotional activities across India.

The first public appearance of the franchise will take place on Saturday and Sunday at CORE, a pop culture festival in Mumbai. The event, organized by BWO at the Jio World Convention Center, will feature a dedicated Doraemon zone with themed installations and photo opportunities. This is just the beginning of a nationwide campaign that includes school contact programs, digital media outreach, outdoor advertising, and mall activations.
