Former teacher K.C. Keerthana held over alleged MDMA money transfers
A former teacher, K.C. Keerthana, is now in police custody after being linked to an alleged MDMA drug syndicate.
Authorities say she's part of a group suspected of moving money for an interstate drug network.
Keerthana insists she has nothing to do with drug traffickers or shady transactions, but the court has allowed police to question her until 5pm on Friday, August 7.
Police probe Keerthana's finances after arrests
Police are digging into Keerthana's financial records and new digital evidence to find out who else might be involved.
Her arrest follows that of Safwan, the first accused in the case, two special educators, and a delivery worker who were also picked up recently.
The defense says the financial transaction in question amounted to only ₹5,000 and that conducting bank transactions was not an offense.
