What's the story
The much-awaited sequel to the beloved 2003 body-swap comedy Freaky Friday, titled Freakier Friday, finally came out in 2025. The movie, starring Hollywood icons Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, had a successful run in theaters and is now ready for its OTT premiere. Directed by Nisha Ganatra, the film sees Curtis's Dr. Tess Coleman and Lohan's Anna Coleman swap bodies with two bickering teens.

What is 'Freakier Friday' about?
Set two decades after the original Freaky Friday, Freakier Friday follows an adult Anna Coleman (Lohan), a 36-year-old single mom to Harper (Julia Butters). She works as a manager for pop idol Ella (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) and is engaged to chef Eric (Manny Jacinto). The story takes a turn when a fortune teller/life coach/barista played by Vanessa Bayer performs a body-swap spell on the two families.

Freakier Friday was a box office hit during its theatrical run, earning $29 million in the US in its opening weekend and a total of $153 million worldwide. The film also set a record for the biggest August opening ever for a PG or G-rated film. On Rotten Tomatoes, it boasts an impressive 74% critic rating and a staggering 91% audience rating.
