Grewal faces ₹5cr extortion threat, Ludhiana police name Gilli Rana
Punjabi singer Kamal Grewal is facing a ₹5 crore extortion threat from someone claiming to be part of the Rohit Godara gang.
The caller warned that Grewal's music career would be over if he didn't pay up.
Police in Ludhiana have registered a case and named Gilli Rana and his associates as suspects, launching an investigation.
Grewal filed online complaint after threats
The trouble started on October 20, when Grewal's music company got missed calls and voice messages demanding money.
While he was performing at a Dussehra event, the threats became more direct: Grewal was told his shows would be stopped if he ignored the demand.
Feeling unsafe after more messages and even international calls, he filed an online police complaint after that.
Police say a case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
