Hughes steps away from touring ahead of open heart surgery

Glenn Hughes, best known for his time with Deep Purple, is stepping away from touring at 74.
He shared on Facebook that he's facing open-heart surgery after a tough year of health problems, saying simply, "health is my number one priority."
Hughes canceled US tour, thanked fans
Hughes had to call off his US spring tour for 2026, which would have featured tracks from his solo album Chosen and other bands like Trapeze.
In his announcement, he thanked fans warmly: "Thank you for walking beside me." showing real appreciation as he takes a break from the stage.
