'I am not an actor' is my most unique film: Nawazuddin Siddiqui
Nawazuddin Siddiqui is bringing his latest project, I Am Not An Actor, to the UK for its premiere on November 7, 2025.
He describes it as his "most unique film," sharing that playing Adnan—a retired banker—was a big departure from his usual roles.
Siddiqui reveals how he prepared for the role
What sets this movie apart? The entire story unfolds over a continuous video call, with emotions shown through a small phone screen instead of face-to-face acting.
To get into character, Siddiqui observed real retired bankers in Frankfurt to capture their insecurities and everyday life.
The actor on why he took up this role
Directed by Aditya Kripalani, the Indo-German co-production was shot live in just 28 days across Mumbai and Frankfurt.
Siddiqui says he loves exploring all kinds of films—from big Bollywood hits to experimental projects like this—because "an actor should be able to play in all genres, styles, and forms."
