'I take a lot of time...'—Suraj Sharma on choosing roles
Suraj Sharma, best known for "Life of Pi," says he's always been picky about his work.
"I take a lot of time to choose what I want to do. There's a lot that goes on behind the scenes before choosing something, I've always been picky about the stories and the characters I want to play, and the people I want to work with," he told PTI in an interview.
What's he up to now?
After his big break in "Life of Pi," Sharma worked on projects like "Million Dollar Arm," "Homeland," "Phillauri," and "Gulmohar."
He just showed his new film, "The Tempting Madness," an American feature, at the 56th International Film Festival of India.
Why so selective?
Sharma says he's focused on quality over quantity, looking for roles that connect Indian and American cinema.
His careful choices appear to have kept his career steady since his debut, as he continues searching for stories that really speak to him.
