Sircar said that Irrfan is responding well to treatment and is in an extremely positive frame of mind at the moment. The National Award winning director hopes to start his next film with the 'Hindi Medium' star by year-end. Irrfan is suffering from Neuroendocrine Tumour.

Sircar told a tabloid, "I've been speaking to both Irrfan and his wife, he's responding well to the treatment and trying to cope with the knowledge that he's battling Neuroendocrine Tumour by treating the recuperation in Europe like a short and unexpected holiday." "I'm planning to visit him next month," he added.

Meanwhile, Irrfan's next film will be out in August
Irrfan will be next seen in debutant director Akarsh Khurana's 'Karwaan' alongside Malayalam heartthrob Dulquer Salmaan and Marathi actor Mithila Palkar. The film is a light-hearted comedy and will hit the screens on August 10. The actor shared the poster of the film on Twitter a few days back. 'Karwaan' will be Irrfan's second release of the year after Abhinay Deo's 'Blackmail'.
