New Netflix film 'Mrs. Serial Killer' to star Jacqueline Fernandez
As streaming services continue to thrive, several film and television actors continue to enter the budding digital scene. And actor Jacqueline Fernandez is the latest one to join them. Yesterday, Netflix revealed that the 33-year-old actor will soon be seen in their Original film called, Mrs. Serial Killer. Read on to find out more about Fernandez's new project.
Netflix made the announcement of Fernandez's involvement with their upcoming project on Twitter yesterday along with the first look, where the actor is seen wearing a headscarf in a monochrome picture. Fernandez expressed her excitement on Twitter about the film saying, "Super stoked to announce my new @NetflixIndia Original film, Mrs. Serial Killer is coming soon. This is going to be fun."
The official synopsis of the film reads: "When her husband is framed and imprisoned for serial murders, a doting wife must perform a murder exactly like the serial killer, to prove her husband innocent." Mrs. Serial Killer is one of the ten Indian Netflix Originals announced last week. The film will be directed by Shirish Kunder and produced by his wife Farah Khan.
Recently, Netflix had also announced a horror anthology by Lust Stories directors - Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee, and Karan Johar; and films across genres to be produced by Shah Rukh Khan, Sudhir Mishra, Ronnie Screwvala, Sooni Taraporevala, Atul Sabharwal, Shashanka Ghosh, and Ruchi Narain.
Kunder earlier tweeted about the film saying that he "always wanted to make a 'killer' entry into the digital world." Last year, he had announced stepping into the digital arena saying, "Very excited about the possibilities and freedom this platform offers. Just committed to my first one." Kunder is best known for his second directorial venture Joker (2012), starring Akshay Kumar, which had flopped.
