Kangana Ranaut's 'Judgementall Hai Kya' witnesses jump at box office
Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao's Judgementall Hai Kya, which witnessed an abysmal opening, finally picked up pace at the box office on the second day of release. As per recent reports, the psychological black comedy raked in some Rs. 7 crore on Saturday, witnessing a roughly 55% jump in its earnings, and made an overall collection of Rs. 22.04 crore at the box office.
Did word of mouth work for 'Judgementall Hai Kya'?
A report published in Box Office India observes that the jump in Judgementall Hai Kya's collections followed the same trajectory as Article 15, which released a few weeks back. Despite getting rave reviews from audiences and critics, the movie had raked in just Rs. 4.5 crore on its day of release. But it seems word of mouth has now helped the Kangana-Rajkummar starrer.
Online leak by Tamilrockers might affect the box office collection
Further, Judgementall Hai Kya was leaked online within hours of its release by Tamilrockers. Reportedly, the movie is apparently now available in HD print for download on the website. Given the leak, the overall box office collection of the movie is likely to be affected.
'Judgementall Hai Kya' beats 'Arjun Patiala' at the box office
Interestingly, Judgementall Hai Kya witnessed a box office clash with Arjun Patiala. The Diljit Dosanjh-starrer received a disappointing start, with an earning of Rs. 1.25 crore on its first day. However, the movie witnessed a slight jump on day 2, and has managed to mint a total of Rs. 4.5 crore so far. Clearly, the Ekta Kapoor product has won the box office game.
Kangana, Rajkummar reunite five years after Vikas Bahl's 'Queen'
Helmed by Prakash Kovelamudi, Judgementall Hai Kya is said to revolve around a complicated murder mystery wherein Kangana (Bobby Grewal) and Rajkummar (Keshav) are the prime suspects. The movie also has Satish Kaushik in a key role. The thriller, lasting some 116 minutes, also marks the union of Kangana and Rajkummar after five years. They were last seen in Vikas Bahl's Queen.
