Justice Thomas recuses from 'The Kerala Story 2' plea
Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas has withdrawn from hearing a plea against The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond. The plea questioned the film's censor certificate and wanted Kerala dropped from the title.
Justice Thomas said he had already taken a view in two other petitions that sought similar relief, so he felt it was best to step aside.
The court orally observed that the plea had become infructuous.

The new challenge to its certification came later, but the court orally observed that the plea had become infructuous.
Justice Thomas had already taken a view in two other petitions that sought similar relief, which is why he preferred to recuse from hearing the plea.
