Kangana's 'Emergency' trailer will play before John's 'Vedaa'
The trailer for Kangana Ranaut's much-anticipated movie, Emergency, will be screened alongside the John Abraham and Sharvari starrer Vedaa. This move is part of a festive release tradition (Vedaa is getting released on August 15) where trailers of upcoming films are attached to current releases. The decision was made to leverage the large audience expected for Vedaa, according to a source from Bollywood Hungama.
'Emergency' trailer gets CBFC approval
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has already given its approval for this move. The Examining Committee of the CBFC cleared the Emergency trailer on August 7, granting it a U/A certificate. The trailer has a total duration of two minutes and 57 seconds.
'Emergency' set to release on September 6
Emergency is scheduled for release on September 6. The film is directed by Ranaut, who also serves as one of the producers and stars in the lead role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The movie features an ensemble cast including Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, and the late Satish Kaushik.
'Emergency' an ode to Indira Gandhi, said Ranaut
In a previous interview with Times Now Navbharat, Ranaut described Emergency as an "ode to our prime minister, who has been elected three times." She further added that the film tells "her life story, whatever good and bad she did." However, she clarified that the movie does not favor any particular political party.
