Kannappa struggles at weekend box office
Vishnu Manchu's new film "Kannappa" opened in theaters across India but hasn't made the splash many hoped for.
Despite being released in multiple languages, it collected about ₹26 crore over its first weekend—most of it coming from Telugu-speaking states.
The Hindi and other dubbed versions barely made a mark.

The film started strong on Friday with ₹10.75 crore, but earnings quickly slipped to ₹7.25 crore by Sunday—a worrying sign given its big budget.
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana led the way, with the Nizam region alone adding ₹8 crore, while Karnataka and North India contributed smaller amounts.
Even cameos from stars like Akshay Kumar and Prabhas couldn't boost its overall performance, putting "Kannappa's" future in theaters on shaky ground.
