Hollywood legend Martin Scorsese joined as executive producer before its Cannes debut and shared his excitement over Ghaywan's selection.
Where can you watch it?
After its festival run, Homebound dropped on Netflix on November 21.
Johar celebrated the Oscars news on Instagram and thanked everyone who helped bring this story from Cannes all the way to global streaming.
